After topping our charts week after week, we finally catch up with Klifford Barkus and get the skinny on his ode to the Big Girl

Who are you?

I’m an American alternative/blues rocker who enjoys a drama free environment, good food and kickass moments. Just got back into the music scene and wish to keep a steady indie career and keep my fans happy!

How did you get into making music?

*Funny story* Got into making music by surprise. Some years back, I was at work listening to a radio station weekly countdown. A co worker made a comment about how cool it would be to make an album – even if it never sold. At that time, I had a secret hidden gift for writing but never in my wildest I thought it would be songs I’d be writing.

From there, I started taking a shot at writing lyrics. Then my first instrument I acquired was a bass guitar (following in the steps of the Jackson 5’s Jermaine Jackson). That bass guitar later turned into a regular guitar. Practiced my ass off, synced my lyrics with my playing, and the rest is history!

What’s the inspiration behind the song and music video?

Big Girl became a song to mirror my fascination for beautiful thick women. I wanted my debut to be something upbeat and positive. Wanted to create something for everyone – guys and girls alike.

The video is sort of a fan tribute/dedication project. Features many thick beautiful women, including my fiance, my friends, and awesome volunteers. Volunteers included women from Canada, UK, Finland and Australia . Also in the mix are Miss Plus Size International models Melanie Cohen and Kerensa Smith.

The turnout was better than I expected. My goal ultimately is to always keep my fans directly involved in my work and keep them in the loop.

What should fans look out for?

As of right now, my fans should lookout an upcoming new single hopefully within the next month. And possibly a new video could be in the works as well. Followed by an EP release.

Also look out for my random creativity throughout my projects.

Anything else to share? How can fans get in touch?

Like to share my thanks to everyone who supported me so far and hopefully will still be around for the voyage.
