RayMorgana caught our attention with their impressive music videos across a variety of genres. We talk to the Dominican duo about their background in music, and why they need your help with a new global music video experience.

Who are you?

Hello, I am Raymond Jaquez, composer, singer, actor & co founder of RayMorgana… Wait, what is RayMorgana? This is the name for the band I started with my love and partner Jeimy Morgana who is also singer, actress and songwriter. Raymond Jaquez + Jeimy Morgana = RayMorgana

In 2013 we created the concept for the band, in 2014 we made it official. We work together creating soundtracks for films as well as exploring many genres of music for upcoming projects.

Currently we are living in our country Dominican Republic

How did you get into making music?

Music is our life and since we are little kids, we basically eat music.

In 2007 Raymond started experimenting with his epic music project ” Trilogy 8 “, then In 2011 he came to the public’s attention as the music producer and co-composer of Talented Dominican artist Genji Endo’s debut album “Soy”. Also scoring and making the soundtrack for the awarded Dominican short film “La Mancha Indeleble” and many more local and international film projects.

Jeimy Morgana’s passion for art began at an early age. At 16 she began to develop as a singer in a band from Dominican Republic. Few years later she was selected as the official voice of the soundtrack for projects like the American film ”All Lit Up”, the Dominican short films ” The Breast of Hope” and ” Un Regalo De Papa” winning 1st place in the festival ”Mujeres En Cortos.

In 2012 Jeimy Morgana and I met and since that moment we work together in the creation of different artistic expressions, specially music.

What’s the inspiration behind the song and music video?

We wanted to create a musical time capsule or an archive to show the relation between humans, war and the nature of change, but ´´ The Return Of The Sacred Path ´´ is also a call to remember that behind the human body there is a soul, that we come to life and we die. In a world like the world today, we wanted to call the attention of certain individuals to awaken their consciousness by remembering this through the power of music and visuals.

What should fans look out for?

We love people! so we came up with a cool project. Basically We want 10 seconds of the life of 100 people to create a symphony for the world. That’s right, we want you to participate in our next music video! we are receiving videos from artists, fans and people in general from around the world, everyone is welcome.
